School is So Quiet!

Our school should never be this quiet. Wednesday, March 11 was an absolutely normal day. I stayed up late writing my subplans so Mrs. Rast could come teach my math and science lessons on Thursday, March 12. Then we got that phone call from Wayde saying school was closed for the rest of the week and all next week, too.

All I can say is I felt like THIS: -->

My daughters and I went to school to grab some supplies I might need in case we need to teach from home. I grabbed my rocking stool, my laptop charger, a few favorite picture books (maybe later, I can read for you Fiesta Fiasco, the sequel to Mañana, Iguana!), a few books for my own 4th grader to read at home, a math workbook, and a few other things.

I took these photos of our classroom - completely empty of students. It is so weirdly quiet. I also changed my calendars to April, since schools were supposed to be closed through the end of Spring Break, April 10. Our custodian team of Julio, Paul, Betty, and Sonia have been working to make sure our school is SPOTLESS! It is so clean! They've wiped EVERY desk and chair in the building!! Mrs. Creech even had new bookshelves put in! (She shared a picture of those on HER blog)

Our classroom is super clean, organized, and waiting. Hopefully waiting for a point when it's safe for us to all come back to the classroom to see one another, give hugs, and maybe even do a science experiment or two! If not until much later, then at least to retrieve our belongings. I'm sad at the moment, as I miss our days together, but I'm remembering the fun time we've had so far and am waiting for that moment we can visit together, too. We'll get there. Let's be patient. 💗
